Apartment Therapy’s Small Cool 2015

I am excited to announce that our submission for Apartment Therapy’s Small Cool 2015 contest has been accepted! I have to admit that I have been pretty lax over the last couple of years about taking photos of our apartment and updating the blog, which is a shame because I feel like it’s really been in this time that I have finally started to feel like it’s all come together nicely. With this in consideration, I used this contest as an excuse to get it together enough to get back to photographing the entire apartment, room by room! So YES, that means I will be blogging each room with detailed shots very soon! The fact that our submission was accepted to the contest is really just icing on the cake!

Deciding which photographs to submit was really tough. I wanted to post more of the kitchen, not just the breakfast nook, and one of the hallway and the bathroom, in addition to a second view of Laelia’s room and our living room, but we could only submit five photos, plus a layout! Thank goodness I had the home tour layout from this blog; it just needed a bit of updating, and it was ready to go. I will be updating the blog to reflect the new layout soon.

We’d really appreciate you favoriting our post on apartment therapy! Thanks so much!

I would love to know where you got your bedding? It’s right up my alley style wise and I love the colors!

    • Hi! It’s from Anthropologie. It’s called the Ipomoea Quilt. http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/home-new/24857179.jsp#/ It’s sold out but maybe you’ll get lucky with eBay!

Has it held up well? I’ve read some really mixed reviews on anthro bedding which has made me hesitant to purchase in the past! One kid several animals and a husband later and I’m afraid it wouldn’t last a week! Lol

I have had 5 Anthropologie quilts over the last almost 15 years; 4 of them have been the standard voile dry clean only material, and no, they do not hold up that great, but they aren’t as bad as some say, either. DO NOT put them in the washer/dryer!!! The one that absolutely fell apart on me was from a time period when I did everything on my bed, so if you just use your bed to sleep and do not machine wash I think it would be fine, even w/ dogs & kids (both of which I had/have). I have one anthro quilt that is less fluffy and made more like a traditional quilt (the batting is fabric as opposed to the more stuffing like batting in the other quilts), and it gets washed regularly and holds up excellently. My BFF has a duvet that she loves as well. Some people add more quilting to the anthro quilts so they hold up better, but I believe part of the appeal of these quilts is how soft and fluffy and light they are, and that opposes how much wear and tear they can take. :)
