In the past I’ve been reluctant to show a lot of my house, because it’s “not perfect”, but really?! Why?! What I love about other people’s blogs is seeing the transformation over time, and I love looking through old photos of our place and thinking, “oh yah! I remember when it looked like that”! Also, don’t you think it would be awesome to see photos of your parents homes, your grandparents homes, or your great grandparents homes? Maybe my children and grandchildren will enjoy these later. So here is something small I did in a room I don’t love, but it made a big impact:
I put this shelf under the television in our bedroom a while back, but I put it up high because I thought I’d just use it to keep the PS2 and the Wii on (PS2 is our DVD player, and Wii for Netflix). But I hated it, so I put them back on the dresser and still hated them just sitting there. (Seriously, I want to invent little tabletop stands/shelves that sit over these devices). And it all just continued to just sit there and suck for probably about a year until Monday. After I put together the frames from yesterday’s post, I knew I wanted them to go into the bedroom the artwork from the cards match our bedding so well! I also thought I’d like to put them opposite the bed to bring the color to the other side of the room, and help to balance everything out. I realized they’d fit perfectly on the shelf, but I had to lower it, and I just did it right then. That’s what I’m all about right now, JUST DO IT! I’m tired of having all sorts of things lingering over my head keeping me from the work I really want and need to focus on (I have some pretty cool stuff lined up! Plus a few birthdays, which we decided are happening HERE). Anyway, I think it was just the pop of color I needed on the other side of the room… I still don’t know where exactly to hang the artwork that is sitting on the dresser (paintings I did from college), but I suspect they will find a home soon. :)
You have such a beautiful eye lady! It looks GORGEOUS. And your bed- I am in love.
XOXO,
Maryam
P.S I also spy a cute little air filtering plant ;)
Maryam– You’re right! :)
