I’m posting a hallway update, like seven months after I posted my hallway inspiration. I’m trying to make good on posting progress pics instead of only posting before and afters… I don’t know why I feel like everything has to be totally finished before I post one photo! That’s just silly. We all learn more by seeing the process and transition! First, a reminder of what the hallway looked like before we decided to tackle it:
… And my little inspiration board:
Now let’s see how far we’ve come!
So we’ve made huge progress! We installed moulding, painted the walls and the moulding, found an awesome gold syrocco mirror from the Rose Bowl flea market, switched out the old flush mount light for a flush mount chandelier, hung two shelves from IKEA, spray painted some frames gold and white and I have something hanging on every wall. I still have to paint the doors, find a new light switch cover, and the gallery walls certainly need some finessing and actual photos and artwork, but the overall effect is there, and we LOVE it. :)
I do have a question about the rug; this rug used to be in the living room (anthropologie fiesta rug 2009), but we replaced it with the significantly larger and more sturdy Corvocado Rug from Anthropologie. It is a perfect size for the opening in our hallway, but I feel like a runner sized rug would be a better choice for this space. However, I do enjoy how this rug makes the hallway feel more like a room than a hallway. What do you guys think?

It looks lovely! I have really been loving those deeper blues lately, they just make the rooms feel cozy.
I love it!!! I love the contrast in colors and the deep blue/green color – it is one of my favorite colors to use in home!!
